Project Updates

  • Green Partners Represented at Celebrate Woodinville & Woodinville Market Fair

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Green Partners’ booth at the Woodinville Market Fair on August 2nd and Celebrate Woodinville on August 9. With back-to-back sunny weekends, thousands of people came out for each event, giving us the chance to connect with more than a hundred residents, neighbors, and visitors.

From these conversations as well as online feedback, several common themes emerged:

    • Public gathering space along NE 175th Street: Breaking up the building frontage with seating, landscaping, and amenities, plus covered areas for the wet-weather months.

    • Convenient, sufficient parking: Easy-to-find spaces that work efficiently for visitors.

    • Upper-story setbacks: Taller buildings designed to reduce shading on the street.

    • Small-business-friendly retail: Flexible spaces sized to support local entrepreneurs and a diverse mix of retailers and service providers.

    • Family-oriented “third places”: Welcoming spaces for events, activities, and casual gatherings.

    • Year-round greenery: More evergreen plantings to maintain color through every season.

    • Recreational and natural features: Ideas such as a playground, dog park, or landscaped trail, potentially alongside Woodin Creek.

We’re grateful for the community’s thoughtful ideas and will continue working to ensure Midtown Woodinville reflects the needs and aspirations of those who live, work, and visit here. We take all feedback seriously and look forward to discussing ways we can incorporate the community’s ideas in Midtown Woodinville’s plans.

Please share any thoughts by filling out our feedback form.

  • For those who were unable to attend our most recent Community Business Listening Session, we drafted a brief recap below.

    1. Supporting Local Businesses
We discussed how future commercial spaces could be designed to support local businesses. The Midtown team will be considering ways to prioritize local and regional businesses, especially by avoiding displacement, reducing reliance on national chains, and offering a wide variety of space sizes.

    2. Retail Parking
Parking remains a mixed experience downtown. We shared our proposed layout that keeps all retail parking at-grade and behind storefronts with access from side streets. This setup helps preserve walkability and retail visibility along NE 175th Street and the future NE 174th Street.

    3. Housing Variety
Given the size of the site, we’re planning a diverse mix of housing from studios to townhomes and senior living at affordable and market rates. Options will include both rental and for-sale units to meet a wide range of community needs.

    4. Building Design & Style
We discussed building form throughout the Eastside, and what makes Woodinville feel different. We highlighted our approach, which includes upper-story step-backs and modulation to maintain a more human scale and neighborhood-friendly feel.

    5. Traffic & Connectivity
We reviewed how the new street connections will improve traffic flow by relieving existing chokepoints. While traffic volume will grow, the enhanced grid will help distribute it more effectively.

    6. Parks & Public Spaces
Attendees expressed excitement regarding plans for green space along Woodin Creek and a public plaza across from DeYoung Park. There was strong interest in adding a small playground, possibly near planned senior housing and a future daycare. We're exploring how to pair functionality with design, including playful, sculptural elements that serve all ages.

  • There’s a new plan in the works for a large piece of property right in the heart of downtown Woodinville: Midtown Woodinville. The development would transform about 19 acres into a walkable, mixed-use neighborhood with new housing, exciting shopping options, restaurants, and public spaces for all to enjoy.

The development will be built in phases alongside major public improvements, including new streets and sidewalks. We expect the new homes will add more residents and energy to downtown.

Midtown Woodinville is designed to support a more walkable, active downtown with wide sidewalks, new bike and pedestrian connections, and spaces that will seamlessly align with existing streets and businesses. The architecture will reflect Woodinville’s distinctive Northwest Woodland style and include natural materials, greenery, and well-designed streetscapes. Retail and restaurants will face the main streets, creating energetic thoroughfares.

The proposed plan includes around 1,300 homes of different types, including townhouses, senior housing, and affordable housing, and a 200-room hotel. Over time, it will generate new housing opportunities for about 3,000 people, including affordable units.

In addition to new buildings, the project is expected to deliver real economic benefits to the Woodinville community. During construction, it will generate hundreds of construction jobs, with even more long-term employment opportunities in various businesses in services, retail, and hospitality.

Midtown Woodinville is a chance to bring new life to a central part of the city, while balancing housing, retail, open space, and public investment in a thoughtful way.

To ensure the plan meets the needs of the Woodinville community, we want to hear from you!  Please follow the link below and let us know what you would like to see downtown:
